Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus - a service update

In light of the rapidly changing Coronavirus situation and the latest government announcements I have come to the very difficult decision to temporarily stop all home visits and in person contacts as of now. This is something I have thought very long and hard about and which I have tried my best to avoid for as long as possible. However, my top priority is to keep you (my clients), my family and myself well and safe at this time, and I now feel this is the most responsible thing to do.

Instead of home visits and in clinic consultations I have moved everything online. I am now offering video consultations through Zoom, Skype or facetime. There is still so much that can be done through telehealth. Online consultations enable you to maintain continuation of care through ongoing education, advice, self -management techniques, exercise progression, and an opportunity to have your questions answered about any aspects of your ongoing rehabilitation. Equally for new clients, it enables me to continue to provide you with access to top quality women’s health physiotherapy. Although I am no longer able to offer manual therapy, I can still provide you with education and evidence based advice on your current condition, guided self-assessment and self-management techniques as well as prescribing exercise programmes. I am still able to answer your questions and discuss any concerns you have with regards to your pelvic health.

It’s a really crazy time at the moment.  An ever changing situation with so much anxiety associated with it. With all the social distancing and self-isolation, the way we live and the world as we know it has completely changed for the moment. But now more than ever, don’t forget about you. Be kind to yourself. Look after yourself.

If you would like to arrange a video consultation do get in touch and I’ll send you instructions on how to connect to the consultation.

I have adjusted my prices for video consultations and these are as follows:

New appointments, pregnancy and postnatal MOT’s £75

Follow ups £45

And on a final note, I think it’s important to balance things out with some positivity.  So to finish, here is a poem...

History will remember when the schools closed

And the children stayed indoors

And the medical staff walked towards the fire

And they didn’t run.

History will remember when the people sang

On their balconies, in isolation

But so very much together

In courage and song.

History will remember when the people fought

For their old and their weak

Protected the vulnerable

By doing nothing at all.

History will remember when the virus left

And the houses opened

And the people came out

And hugged and kissed

And started again

Kinder than before.
